Stunner Home,
Rose et
The minimalist home m'interpellent énormément.

The last post of the series (my) new home. I close with my bedroom. Usually, I protect my walls of ornaments, but this time I opted for the splendid illustrations of the Australian graphic designer
Kate Fenning of
Yorkelee print. Intrigued, I asked her some questions.
When did you start your shop?
I studied as a graphic designer, went into advertising, worked as studio manager, account manager, operations manager etc. before going on maternity leave in 2012, I started Yorkelee last October 2014.
For your last prints, what inspire you?
For the
premium range I wanted to go darker, a lot of my prints are light so i really wanted to switch it up and create something a little different and more 'designer' range, using high quality paper stock and taking it to a new and different level. I try not to be influenced by current trends or look at what other people are doing, I focus on gaining inspiration through my own experiences when exploring art, galleries, photography, exhibitions, books, design etc. it is a tricky balance though making sure your work is relevant in the current market place.
Your approach has changed... more feminine, delicate.
The
Stunner print was inspired by the beauty of female form, I have always been obsessed with the female form, I did life drawing at university (which is ink on paper of nude subjects) and loved it, since then i love experimenting with black and white and different interpretations of beauty.
Future project?
I'm always challenging myself to push the boundaries, never get comfortable, I would love to keep taking Yorkelee to different levels and experimenting with different styles and eventually have a well recognised innovative brand for the future.
Kate... thank you so much for this interview and for your magnificent prints!
